Thank you for using the Library Database System. This system has been put in place to make it easier for everyone to use the ETC Library. As such we ask that you abide by the rules below.   • You must be attending the Pittsburgh Campus in order to check out items from this library
  • All items can be checked out for a 2 week period.
  • All items must be checked out using the library database system. You will be emailed for each item you have checked out with information on what you checked out and when it is due back.
  • Return all items to the library return box. They will be checked in and reshelved by the Librarian.
  • Renewals and holds

    o Any item can be renewed for another 2 week period.
    o Anyone can place a hold on an item that has been checked out. An email is sent to the person who has checked out a book notifying them that a hold has been placed on it.
    o If a hold is placed on an item that has been just checked out, the patron who has the book may retain the book until their original checkout period has passed.
    o If a hold is placed on an item that has been renewed, the patron who has the book must return it as soon as possible.
    o Any item can be turned back in before the checkout period has passed.

  • The person who signs out an item is financially responsible for that item during its lease. If it is lost, stolen, or damaged, that person must pay for the replacement or repair of the item.
  • No more than five items total can be signed out at a time.
  • The ETC reserves the right to grant exceptions to, alter definitions of, and exempt persons from any of the above rules for extenuating circumstances.
